Stand up, Speak Out for an abused or neglected child... Become a Guardian ad Litem
Guardians ad Litem are citizens who volunteer to represent children before the court, social service agencies and the community. Volunteers are trained and supervised by program staff, including attorneys. On average, Guardians ad Litem devote approximately 6 hours a month & create relationships that can make a huge impact on children's lives. To become a Guardian, you must be at least 19 years old. A criminal background check and screening interview will be completed on all applicants and you must complete the 30 hour pre-service training program to be certified. Guardian ad Litem Training Where:Department of Transportation 605 Suwanee Street, Tallahasee and Thomasville Road Courthouse Annex 1920 Thomasville Road, Tallahassee When: Monday October 4 5:30-9PM (Thomasville Road Annex) Wednesday October 6:30-9PM (DOT) Thursday October 7 5:30-9PM (DOT) Monday October 11 5:30-9PM (DOT) Tuesday October 12 5:30-9PM (DOT) Thursday October 14 5:30-9PM (DOT) 30 hours of training is required which may include Reading, Court Observation and Practice Activities.
